Excellent! Really excellent. Well done ClickBOOM. It's about time we had a really good beat-em-up. Better than Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Body Blows and all the others. I'll tell you, this scores well in every department. The effects and music are very good, an effective intro tune gets you in the mood for the coming battle. Options to make it easier for the wimps or harder for the real men (and women), play against the computer or a friend / enemy, play in a knock-out, as a team, or a league, then set the deadly traps to deliver death on contact, choose to be one of the four different characters each with their own moves and strengths.

Demona

This isn't like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter where you have to waggle the joystick in ten different directions, press the fire button an odd number of times depending on which day of the week it is! This is back to the more skilful side of combat where you have to get yourself into the right position at the right time then make the right move in order to succeed. Only a few special moves are available for each character and most have to be used when in close proximity to the opponent, thereby making yourself as vulnerable as they are! And when playing against the computer you'll find you have to be vulnerable as little as possible, they are quick to take advantage.

Sarmon

When you see the graphics you'll be amazed. The backdrops are superb with the 'Sewers' scenario looking very atmospheric. The swinging lights and moving shadows are very effective. The 'Factory' scene looks equally as good, rusty pipes and grilled floors setting the scene. Then the 'Temple' looks nice and serene until you start spilling blood over the floor. Just as much love and attention has been given to each of the characters, Demona looking particularly attractive in her peep-hole tunic, mask, and short skirt!

Wakantanka

If you check the ClickBOOM web page, there they say they will be making more characters and backdrops for future release. Wouldn't it would be nice if you could design your own fighters? One thing to be taken into consideration is that this is hard drive only, it needs about 15 meg of space. It does work on an ordinary 2 meg machine but requires a boot disk to be made. Not a problem and worth the slight effort. We did have trouble getting it to work on our A4000, but found that we could get a script to run it when placed very early in the startup-sequence.

SewersTemple

Did I like this? Ummm... Yeh, course I did. And so does everyone else who's played it. This is the best beat-em-up you can get anywhere. God knows how they're going to do better than this, but let's hope they try. This is a definite winner.
