Aminet 15.
£10.99
Here is the November 96 release from the Aminet archive. This month the 'specialist subject' falls into the category of animation, notably MPEG animation. 250 megs worth of them. Watch a bird dip it's bill into water. See various small space vessels dock with various large space vessels. Feel the soothing effects of watching the aquarium or the anchovies swimming through the seaweed. Take a stroll through Berlin and other cities. Fly past Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Earth and other planets. Or view many of the other movies available. Luckily enough the disk also contains a number of MPEG players of various quality and hardware requirements, ready to unpack so you can play these anims.
Besides this there is the usual mix of pictures, demos, utilities, music, comms stuff, workbench stuff, text stuff, etc. Also the familiar AmigaGuide interface is used as an index and an easy way of extracting the required files.
In my opinion you don't need every Aminet disk every month, if you want to keep on top of new files and utils without being obsessive then one every 3 months should be fine. This edition doesn't have the usual free commercial program on it but is none the less a valuable resource.
