Insight Dinosaurs.
£19.95

It will run on a CDTV, a CD32, or a normal CD drive, you can use a mouse or joypad to navigate. The interface is big, bold and practical. The various sections are informative, well designed and well put forward. You can see how dinosaurs became extinct, look at various kinds of dinosaur anatomy, learn about fossil hunters and hunting, see how the continents shifted, learn about their attack and defence, and more. There is even a special section for kids called the Funosaurus which includes a quiz, a sliding block puzzle and a painting book, all dinosaur related.

The only down side of this title is that it was made to be compatible with the CDTV which results in the graphics being LoRes. That being said, the pictures are still very good overall, the movies are fairly abundant and well done, and loads of narration (in English instead of the American that all PC titles seem to suffer from) which has been done very professionally. It all fits together nicely. The young and old will be absorbed by this title for hours and hours.

Seeing as how it is quite old (1994) it has stood the test of time very well. The actual CD was made by Optonica in association with the Natural History Museum, I know they have made Insight Technology as well and I'd like to see it. Lets hope they continue to make some more like this. Royalties go to the Natural History Museum.
