Groliers Encyclopedia.
£24.99
Is this the only encyclopedia that's available on the CD32? Well if it is I can tell you, it doesn't compare well to the likes of the stuff that's available on the PC! It doesn't compare that well to the 'Insight' CDs available for the Amiga either. However, as it is one of the few / only encyclopedias around you have to say that the content is actually quite good.
Loads of information (as you would expect from an encyclopedia) and loads of pictures, I didn't find any speech or narration, just a few sound effects. Although this doesn't detract from the provided information, it would have been nice if it was there. The thing I feel that did let it down was the user interface. It looks plain and uninteresting! Large icons are used to select various categories and it's a good job that the item names are written underneath!
Like I said, all the information you want is there, but it should have been better presented.
Only required if you can't make do with the written version or don't own either version.
