Web Explosion 20,000 images.

HiSoft - £44.95

20,000 images on two CDs, I wonder who had the job of counting them! Sidebars, buttons, backgrounds, dividers, sounds, alphabets, bullets, banners, clip art, and loads more. Whats more, you get a printed manual showing every single image contained on the CDs, as well as sample web pages within each of the directories to use to view those directories.

Here you can see a couple of the sidebars, just a selection from about 75 of them. Most of them are actually quite nice and would look good on most web pages, although, as with most collections, there are a few ugly ones that you would never even think of using!

Bullets are quite well catered for with about 150 of 'em.

And here's an example of one of the Alphabets...

Over 1000 Jpeg pictures are included for your perusal from subjects such as landmarks, kids, space, fish, animals, food, wilderness, etc. 28 megs worth!

Want some dividers to separate your text?

Loads of these to choose from, but once again, quite a few that I wouldn't bother with!

Do you need some banners?

Hmmm, not many here I fancy.

Overall this is a good collection that any webmaster would like to own. As you might expect, when you purchase these CDs you are licensed to use the images on any web pages you create that use them. Primarily it was created for PC users and has an image / catalog viewer to install for them to use. Us poor Amiga users just have to make do with flicking through the (very good) manual, or loading the sample HTML pages.

What I did find strange was that it came on two CDs when the whole lot would have fitted on one with room to spare!

Perhaps a little too pricey for the casual user, but almost essential for a heavy user. Would have scored more if it had been cheaper.
