Vulcan Mini Series
Jetpilot title pic

Vulcan Software - £16.99.

Vulcan has kindly sent me a copy of their latest game, JetPilot. In which you get the chance to fly around in various aircraft, ranging from the Lightning to a F-104 to a Mig. Take them around the airfields of Europe for a spin or indulge in some training before getting involved in the combat scenarios. These planes each have their own 'true to life' handling and characteristics, and, Vulcan say, they perform within 10% of the real thing! Quite an acomplishment I reckon.

Do you fancy a change from flying around in the sunny Mediterranean? How about the rainy coast of Scotland? You can change the atmospheric conditions and starting location to suit your needs. All the normal viewing option are included, inside, outside, behind, from the tower and various other remote camera positions. Speech is an option that can be turned on or off, however it sounds pretty dire so I would advise it turned off. Aside from this one complaint the rest of the program is surprisingly good.
Let me show you some of the stats for the sim...

I must admit flight sims are not an area of gaming that I excell in! When I started playing this I found it quite difficult to actually do anything. With a little patience and practice I now feel I'm actually getting somewhere. In fact I'm quite looking forward to another go. It's become a lot better than my first impression led me to believe! It's ability to run on any Amiga with 1meg of ram will surely make this a hit.

The next best thing to having a real pilots licence!
