THE BUILDING OF BATH MUSEUM

THE COUNTESS OF HUNTINGDON'S CHAPEL

The Paragon, Bath. BA1 5NA - 01225 333895

This delightful and unusual building (designed in the 'Gothick' style) was built by Selina, Countess of Huntingdon in 1765, on the site of a medieval vineyard.

The Building of Bath Museum tells the story of the development of the Georgian city. Visitors can discover how the buildings of this World Heritage Site were designed, built, decorated and lived in during the eighteenth century.

A display in the Museum explores the history of the Countess and her chapel-building program, particularly highlighting the importance of the role of this chapel in the city of Bath.
