Well here we go then. This is the page that will let you navigate around within Paradise City. For ease of use Paradise City has been designed for frame-compatible browsers to use a side index bar. This is to ease navigation but for the full contents at a glance this is the place to be.

Well I guess you would like to know what is here then!

Amiga

Now we do have an Amiga section (http://www.pisle.com/amiga/) for those of you who are interested. This section is being run by Paul as he is very fond of the Amiga.

News

There are three sub-sections that come under the general heading of news.

News - the first of the three is, as you would expect, new items that are of importance or interest to the industry.

News Links - whilst we may carry summaries of the latest news if a company has their own news page then you will probably find a more in-depth report on there latest product or service.

News Archive - this is for items that have previously been news items. For subscribers the news archive is not just a list of item titles, they will benefit from being able to request access to the archives should they have any reason, however strange, to do so.

There are two other sections that could possibly come under the general news heading. The first is the Diary Dates page which gives details of forthcoming dates in the computer world, covering the next twelve months. The other page is the Date List which will give details of the dates of items posted to Paradise City. This is particularly useful if you will be logging on more regularly than once a month.

Editorial

Editorial is a strange subject to try to describe. Basically, for the purposes of Paradise City, the term Editorial covers items that do not fit into any of the other categories. Items such as the information pages, about Paradise City, and the staff pages will be included in this section. Anyway have a gander below and you will see what is included in this section.

General Editorial

The Welcome Page - A message to welcome you to Paradise City.

What is Paradise City? - A short piece to answer some of the questions that you may have about Paradise City.

Staff pages

Pete's Page - our editor writes about some strange item that has taken his fancy. We are not all that sure about the content but all we can say is that it offers a different viewpoint.

Andy's Page of Doom and Despair - irrevocable proof that the world will go through some major turbulence and possibly even total destruction. No not tomorrow but soon enough. Well - probably.

Dave's, allegedly, Useless Information page - Dave has this habit of suddenly spouting out a completely irrelevant fact about something or other. We think that this is so amusing that we are going to make you suffer as well (well if you choose to look at the page anyway).

The Pool Page - a whole page devoted to Pool, the game with sticks and balls. Oh and just to rectify any strange American Ideas we do play pool in the UK. It's just that we can play snooker as well (not that I personally like snooker very much - pool is far too good). The current content on this page covers the state of affairs regarding computer pool.

Features

Features - well what is a feature? Well to us a feature is an article relevant to a certain topic. This topic may be limited to a single product in special circumstances. Anyway I am quite sure that you are not that interested in my evaluation of this so here we go.

Current features are:

E.C.T.S. Report - The European Computer Trade Show is held biannually at the Olympia Centre at Earls Court, London, UK. This is our report on the spring show from earlier in the year.

Advanced Joysticks - With all these new, feature-packed joysticks that are starting to flood the market we thought it time to have a look at what is on offer. To follow on from this feature we will be reviewing a number of these joysticks as they turn up.

Computer Pool - The current Pool Page contains a feature on playing pool on your computer.

E-On - Entertainment On-line is a shortly to be launched gaming site on the web. With some major bank-balance behind them we should be in for a treat. We bring you a preview report on the services that will be offered.

Previews

This title covers a multitude of sins. Basically this is where we will give you information on products that will be launched at some time in the future. This section will also cover the New Product sections. This is effectively pre-preview information taken from when we are first told about a product.

This section will be broken down into the four basic product sections: Games, Software, Hardware, and Other items.

Games

Civilization 2 - we bring you a report on the sequel to one of the most successful games in the history of computer games.

Software

Toto Interactive Quest - One for the kiddies. Toto is really Homer Simpson as a boy (probably), but read the review to see why.

Final Writer - The Amiga's best word processor hits the PC. Is it better than Word? We shall have to see.

Hardware

Other Items

Liquid Gel Mouse Mats - We preview the amazing liquid gel mouse mats.

Reviews

Reviews are where we take a product, have a look at it, try to break it, try to use it properly, and then tell you all about it.

We also offer a Lightening Review service where we will go out and buy a product if it is released before we receive a review copy. These are first impression reviews and will be followed up with a full review at a later date. This will hopefully go some way to stopping companies releasing products before sending them for review.

Well here we go - the reviews are separated into the four product groups:

Games

Survival - a new strategy game from Denmark.

Civilization 2 - Lightening review. This is due to the product being released before we launched. We will be giving this one a full going over but it will take some time.

Worms Reinforcements - Worms on the rampage. Not content with a product all to themselves the worms have brought out an add-on pack.

Duke Nukem 3D - The ultimate Doom clone? Read the review.

Settlers 2 - Those little funny people are back. Only this time they have been ship-wrecked - how sad!

Software

Escoffier - a dead French chef haunts us with a new recipe based product. Actually he was quite famous.

HTML Notepad 2 - We tell you all about this little program that helps you create HTML.

Hardware

Simuleyes - Pretend you're the Terminator with these cool-looking, indoor shades. Oh they also give you a nice 3D option for games (well ones with the right options anyway).

F-16 - No not the plane (we couldn't persuade anyone to loan us one so that we could do a comparison) but the ThrustMaster Joystick set.

Tips and Stuff

Do you need any help with your game playing skills, are you stuck in your latest product. So what do you want me to do about it? Oh - well I guess that I could try and give you a few pointers.

You had best link to the Tips Page then.

Regulars

No not the old people who schedule their toilet visits. Regulars are the sections that we will have here all the time (well so long as we want to keep them) so you can safely rely on these pages being here.

Letters page - this is where we will be answering your mail - if we feel like it. No seriously you can mail us and we will respond so long as you have a reasonable point to make.

Charts Page - this is where we will publish any charts that we feel like. We have not decided what charts to work with at the moment so there are no charts there yet.

Staff pages - these could also be listed as regular items but they are listed up the page a bit so we have just linked back to them.

Subscription items - Have you subscribed and filled in our questionnaire? No you can if you so desire.

Advertising

Advertising generates revenue. This means that we do not have to charge you. That is if you do not mind not paying. If you are really desperate to pay then you could always send us some little token (small pieces of paper with large numbers on are always being collected by at least one member of our team).

No advertising is here for the benefit of all parties. We will not be forcing you to view adverts on every page but they will be floating around in a few select locations.

Advertising Index - this is where you can go and choose to look at an particular advert, if you should want.

Advertising Info. - if you should be one of the nice people who wish to advertise with us then you should go here. We will thank you in advance - thank you. We are running a special promotion at the moment but you will have to call for details.

Subscription

Now by subscription we mean that we will e-mail you once a month reminding you to log on for the latest items. This service is FREE as it would be a bit of a cheek to ask you to pay for it. All that you have to do is the fill in your name and e-mail address and then send the form. If you do not have a forms compatible browser you can just mail in your request.

Subscription Page - go here to subscribe.

Questionnaire - if you should be inclined to fill out our little questionnaire then please do so. You will need to have a forms compatible browser. You could send in your answers by e-mail if you like.
