Carter & Harding is an independent optometric partnership wholly owned and managed by MR & Mrs Phillips who are Qualified registered Optometrists. They carry out thorough eye examinations, sight tests and also supply spectacles.
The partners and all the staff take pride in the personal level of service and attention. This is complemented by a wide range of Spectacle frames chosen from most of the major manufacturers at competitive prices.
The practice is open six days a week so please feel free to contact us but for a sight test an appointment is usually necessary.

Eye Examination and Sight Testing

Carter and Harding offer a full Eye-Testing Service from our qualified Optometrist. Our Standard Eye Test is a very reasonable £14:50 with a free service to NHS concessions (these include: all children under sixteen, students in full time education, to the age of 19, individuals with diabetes and/or glaucoma and anyone receiving Income Support of Family Credit).
Please note that we recommend that everyone should have their eyes tested at least every 2 years for adults and every six months for under 16s.
Home visits are regularly made to the housebound who are unable to attend the practice, either at private houses or in residential homes, visits can be made for just one patient.

Spectacles

We offer a wide range of frames to suit your personal requirements, preferences, and pocket. Our budget range starts at just £37.00 and our designer frames start at £79.99. With many of our wide range of frames are on display.
In addition to our regular spectacles we also offer a wide range of prescription sunglasses.

Contact Lenses

Carter and Harding also offer a range of contact lenses, both reusable and disposable. We cover all types of contact lenses including gas permeable, soft, and hard lenses. Our contact lenses are generally sold in six month packs with the pack and the consultation all included in a single price.

Prescription Sunglasses

We offer a wide range of tinted prescription lenses (sunglasses) including the Wimbledon range from Rodenstock which includes varifocals + new frame for £106 or Photochromic lenses (the lenses which react to light and darken when the light levels increase giving optimum protection for your eyes whilst maintaining optimum visibility.
